Radio in Poland
History of radio in Poland predates the establishment of Second Polish Republic. A number of radio stations were created in the 1920s. Interrupted by World War II, they resumed operations after the war, but were nationalized by the communist government of the People's Republic of Poland. Independent, privately owned radio stations proliferated in the democratic Third Polish Republic after 1989.
