RS Aero

The RS Aero sailboat is an ultralightweight singlehanded dinghy recently developed by RS Sailing. The boat competes with the venerable Laser dinghy, retaining the Laser's defining philosophy of easy transportation, potentially atop a car. The RS Aero hull weighs only 30 kg (66 lb). Fully rigged with the largest possible sail, the boat weighs 48 kg (106 lb).

Three possible rigs exist for the RS Aero hull. The RS Aero 5, the smallest of the three, is designed for children and features a sail with area 5.2m2 (54 sqft). The next largest rig, the RS Aero 7, designed for women and small-framed men, has a slightly larger 7.4m2 (77 sqft) sail area. The RS Aero 9, designed for larger-framed men, boasts a sail area of 8.9m2 (93 sqft).
