QuillPad

Quillpad is a transliteration technology to phonetically type Hindi and other text in Indic scripts. This was the first typing tool with artificial intelligence to use dictionary based phonetic transliteration. Later on, Google and Microsoft came with such kind of typing tools. Quillpad uses machine learning techniques to learn language patterns. Hence it is not the same as dictionary based approaches. It can correctly transliterate even those words that it has not been trained on. Quillpad uses a generic transliteration approach which enables it to be extended to any alphabet based language in the world.

Quillpad has released a version for mobile phone too, named Quillpad Mobile with help of which Indic text can be typed using the mobile phone's standard English keypad. It doesn't require Indian language keypad.

Tachyon Technologies is the company behind Quillpad. It was founded by IIT Madras graduates Ram Prakash H and KS Sreeram in 2000, straight out of college.
