Putri Pariwisata Indonesia (Indonesian: literally "Miss Tourism Indonesia" ) is a beauty pageant held annually in Indonesia under the slogan "Bringing Indonesian Culture to the World".
History
Putri Pariwisata Indonesia is a pioneer in Indonesian beauty pageantry and its associated tourism. The winner of this national event becomes the Ambassador of Tourism for Indonesia and helps the country's tourism promotion nationally and internationally. Winners and runners up in the contest are judged on the three criteria of smartness, charm and hospitality. The event is the national franchise for:
- Miss Tourism World (2012–present)
- Miss Tourism International (2008–present)
- Miss Tourism Queen International (2011–present)
- Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International (2011 - 2012)
- World Miss University (2011 - 2012)

The winner of Putri Pariwisata Indonesia represents her country at Miss Tourism World. On occasion, when the winner does not qualify (due to age) for either contest, a runner-up is sent. In 2014 Indonesia was withdrew at the pageant for the first time.

As of 2008 for the first time the Putri Pariwisata Indonesia (PPI) sent its winner for Miss Tourism International pageant in Malaysia until 2011. Since 2012 winner or one of the runners-up at the Putri Pariwisata Indonesia pageant will appoint to represent Indonesia at the Miss Tourism International pageant.

Since 2005 Indonesia was debuted at the Miss Tourism Queen International from closed election. In 2008 Indonesia was sent t2o individuals to represent Indonesia as a country and Bali as special region. In 2011 EL JOHN Pageant was bought the pageant license to pick official candidate from Putri Pariwisata Indonesia pageant. Since that year the organization will select candidates from Putri Pariwisata Indonesia pageant.
In 2013 Indonesia sent the only one representative at the Miss Tourism Queen International pageant.
In 2010, 2012 and 2014 the Miss Tourism Queen International did not held.

In 2010 EL JOHN Pageant was bought the pageant license to pick official candidate from Putri Pariwisata Indonesia pageant. Since that year the organization will select candidate from Putri Pariwisata Indonesia pageant.
Since 1994 - 2012 The Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International was held in separated pageant in under Miss Tourism International Organization. Since 2013 the pageant will not held again since 2013 after being the title at Miss Tourism International pageant and automatically the 1st Runner-up at the pageant will call as Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International.

Representatives at World Miss University
Since 1988 Indonesia was participated at the World Miss University pageant in South Korea, the official candidate selected in closed election from the country.
As of 2014, EL JOHN Pageant Organization transferable license of World Miss University from Putri Pariwisata Indonesia to Miss Earth Indonesia. Since that year the official candidate will appoint from the Miss Earth Indonesia pageant.
