The Puerto Rican broad-winged hawk (Buteo platypterus brunnescens) is a small hawk of the genus Buteo that occurs in Puerto Rico.[4] It is in the family of the Accipitridae from the order of the Falconiformes.[2] Its Spanish common name is guaragüao de bosque. This bird is an endangered subspecies.[5] It inhabits the Toro Negro State Forest.[6]
