Profium

Profium is a Finnish company that provides software for companies to use on-premises or as part of cloud computing environments. The software manages structured and non-structured information such as news in a single in-memory database.

Profium has headquarters in Espoo, Finland and offices in Mikkeli, Finland and in Walnut Creek, California.

Products

Profium Sense

Profium Sense is a contextual content management platform product with a built-in triple store. Profium Sense is used for ontology-based information retrieval where the ontology can be industry specific or it can be developed by the customer or a combination of these two. Profium Sense also supports meaning based routing i.e. it can monitor information streams and react when predefined conditions match by publishing the information to the users or other IT systems.

Technology

Profium is the 1st software vendor to implement the Semantic Web technologies in a commercial content management product when the product was first launched in 2001.^[1] Today Profium has its own patent protected inference engine and Profium's products support standards such as RDF, RDFS, OWL 2 RL, JSON-LD and SPARQL with geosemantic query extensions.
