Tahseen Said, 81,[1] is the current hereditary secular leader, (emir, or prince), of the Yazidi people. He is the head of the Yazidi Supreme Spiritual Council. He lives in Baadre.[2]

He has a son named Hazim Tahsin Said.[3]

Life

He traveled in 1975 after the Algiers Agreement led to the crushing of the Kurds' resistance.[4]

On August 4, 2014, he issued a plea to world leaders, concerning plight of the Yazidi being attacked by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.[5]
