Prakruti Mishra is an Odia actress, who appears in Odia Film Industry. She is well known for her acting as a child artist in serial Tulasi (an Odia serial aired on ETV).

Early life and background

Prakruti is the second child and has an elder brother Manab Mishra. She is the daughter of music director Manmath Mishra and News reader Krushnapriya Mishra. She completed her schooling at Venkateswar English Medium School in 2011, followed by studying commerce at Rama Devi Women's College, Bhubaneswar. Now, she studies B.A. at Bhavan's College. She also learned Odissi dance from Guru Gangadhar Pradhan.[1]

Career

She made her debut in an Odia Bhajan song by Namita Agrawal. Odia people knew her after she appeared in an Odia serial Tulasi in ETV Odia as a character named 'Smruti'. She was working for RACE (Research For Adult And Child Education, Odisha). Prakruti made her film debut in Sabata Maa in the year 2003 as a child artist.[2]

After this she appeared in Hari Bhai Harena as a double role child artist with Sunil Kumar and Anu Choudhury. Then, she appeared as child artist in Sashu Ghara Chalijibi with Siddhanta Mahapatra and Anu Choudhury, Pagala Karichi Paunji Tora with Sabyasachi Mishra and in Sata Sure Bandha Ei Jibana with Anubhav Mohanty which was her father's home production film. Then, she appeared as side actress in film Thukul with Babushan and Archita Sahu which was directed by Prasant Nanda.

In 2012, she acted in a lead role for the first time in Hara Pattanaik's film Omm Sai Ram with Sabyasachi Mishra, Budhaditya Mohanty, Koel Mishra. Then she appeared in ACP Sagarika as a lead with newcomer Abhisek Rath and Archita Sahu. In 2013, she acted with Bulu as lead in Premika and with a role of Ghost in Kaunri Kanya which was the first Odia 3D film.

She also appeared in a dance number with Odissi dancer Saswat Joshi of Nila Madhab Panda's next directorial Hindi film Kaun Kitne Paani Mein. The dance number was filming in Bhubaneswar with Western Odisha's popular song Rangabati.[3]

In 2006, she won the Orissa State Film Awards for Best Child Artiste for the Sashu Ghara Chalijibi.[1]

She participated in the Reality show India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj of Zee TV in July 2014 and selected for the top ten list but was eliminated on 10 August.
