As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 314 people, 112 households, and 89 families residing in the city. The population density was 132.7 people per square mile (51.2/km²). There were 121 housing units at an average density of 51.1 per square mile (19.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 92.68% White, 5.41% African American, 0.96% Native American, 0.32% from other races, and 0.64% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.46% of the population.
There were 112 households out of which 35.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.5% were married couples living together, 8.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.5% were non-families. 16.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.80 and the average family size was 3.09.
In the city the population was spread out with 26.8% under the age of 18, 8.0% from 18 to 24, 27.7% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 15.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 90.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.0 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $39,375, and the median income for a family was $38,750. Males had a median income of $33,125 versus $20,278 for females. The per capita income for the city was $14,829. About 13.6% of families and 10.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 10.0% of those under age 18 and 7.8% of those age 65 or over.
