Powhatan is an unincorporated community in McDowell County, West Virginia located approximately one mile from Northfork, West Virginia. It is home to Huckleberry Trails Inn, a popular food and lodging facility for ATV enthusiasts who travel the surrounding trails. Powhatan has one place of worship, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Powhatan was named after the famous Powhatan tribe of Native Americans of which Pocahontas belonged.
