The 2012 Portland mayoral election was held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, to elect the mayor of Portland, Oregon. Charlie Hales was elected mayor, defeating challenger Jefferson Smith. Incumbent mayor Sam Adams did not seek a second term.[2]

Municipal elections in Oregon are non-partisan. The non-partisan primary was held on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.[3] As no candidate received an outright majority of the vote in the primary, the top two finishers—former city commissioner Charlie Hales and state representative Jefferson Smith—advanced to a runoff in the November 6 general election.[4] In the general election, Hales received approximately 61% of the vote.[5]
