Politics of the United Kingdom Political parties Elections |
The Populist Party is a political party in the United Kingdom. It was formed as the Populist Alliance in March 2006 by former members of other smaller political parties, including Veritas, who were disillusioned with events. They registered with the Electoral Commission on 3 March of that year.[1]
The Populist Alliance was subsumed into the Populist Party on 10 September 2014, with the Populist Alliance Leader taking over as leader of the Populist Party, which remains registered with the Electoral Commission. The Party treasurer is Lee Consterdine.
