Poompuhar State Award
Poompuhar State Award is an award given to outstanding artisans every year by Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited.[1] This award is aimed to encourage the craftpersons and improving their standard of living. The Poompuhar award was elevated to the status of a state award in 2002. The Award comprises 50,000 INR, four gm gold medal, citation (thamirapatram) and a certificate.[2]
