"Point #1" is the debut single from alternative metal band Chevelle. It was released from the album of the same name. The song had marginal success, peaking at no. 40 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks, where it stayed for a week.[1] The song is one of the most famous from the band's early days, appearing on the albums Live from the Road and Stray Arrows: A Collection of Favorites. Since its initial release, when the song is performed live, the intro "Open" is also played.
Music video
A music video was released for the song. The video shows the band performing in a house. Some shots just show the instruments "playing themselves" along with footprints being made with no person. Later on in the video, a man instantly bursts into flames, with a woman looking at the man. After a few seconds, the woman goes into the house's garage, with the man following soon after. The man enters the garage, sitting on the hood of a car. After a while, the man picks up a grill and starts to smash the car, with the woman on the other side of it. At the video's climax, the band also bursts into flames, with the man still wandering around the house.
