Podlaskie Regional Assembly

The Podlaskie Regional Assembly (Polish: Sejmik Województwa Podlaskiego) is the regional legislature of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, Poland. It is a unicameral body consists of thirty councilors elected in free elections for a four-year term. The current President of the Assembly is Bogdan Dyjuk.

The Regional Assembly meets in the Marshal's Office in Białystok.

Districts

Members of the Assembly are elected from five districts, serve four-year terms. The districts do not have formal names, instead each constituency has a number and territorial description.

Regional Assembly must elected 5 person to Voivodeship executive board (zarząd województwa) in time 3 months than elections. Because on 21 February 2007 Assembly elected only three persons: Voivodeship Marshal (marszałek województwa) and two Vice-Marshals, Voivodeship Governor (Voivode, Wojewoda) solved Regional Assembly. Polish Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński nominated Jarosław Schabieński as Commissioner of Podlaskie Voivodeship Self-Government with Assembly and Executive Board powers.
