In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, the planetar is a type of angel.
Publication history
The planetar first appeared in first edition in Dragon #64 (August 1982),[1] and were reprinted in the first edition Monster Manual II (1983).[2]
The planetar appeared in second edition under the "aasimon" heading in the Monstrous Compendium Volume Outer Planes Appendix (1991),[3] and appeared for the Planescape setting in the first Planescape Monstrous Compendium Appendix (1994).[4]
The planetar appeared in the third edition under the "celestial" heading in the third edition Monster Manual (2000),[5] and appeared under the "angel" heading in the revised 3.5 edition Monster Manual (2003).[6]
Description
The planetar is a mighty general of the celestial armies that also helps powerful mortals on missions of good, particularly those that involve battles with fiends.

The planetar appeared under the "angel" heading in Paizo Publishing's book Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Bestiary (2009), on page 11.[7]
