Pingtung Line
The Pingtung Line (Chinese: 屏東線; pinyin: Píngdōng Xiàn) is a line of the Taiwan Railway Administration Western Line in Taiwan. It is 61.3 km long, of which 36.1 km is double track.[1]
History
The line was completed in 1941. It is electrified (25 kV) with two tracks from Kaohsiung to Pingtung, which is to be extended to Chaozhou in 2015 in the first stage of railway electrification on the southern side of Taiwan. Most trains start or end from Kaohsiung Station or Pingtung Station.
