Pin-Up Went Down is a French avant-garde metal band formed in 2006. The band consists of the two brothers Alexis and Nicolas Damien.[1] Alexis plays the majority of the instruments and is the sole composer of the band.
Their music is a metal sound, associated many various styles like pop, funk, symphonic, gospel, progressive or psychedelic. Their two albums have received unanimously good reviews from metal review sites and the specialized press.
History
Pin-Up Went Down is the project of Alexis Damien, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist also known for the bands Carnival in Coal and Wormfood, originally as the name of Esthete Piggie. He his soon joined by vocalist Asphodel from Penumbra, Howdy Effect and Nowonmai.[1]
2 Unlimited was released on 28 March 2008.[2] Two years later the second album, 342, was released on 28 June 2010,[3] with the addition of Damien's brother Nicolas, who plays all the piano and keyboards but also a part of guitars.
On January 22, 2014, the lead singer Asphodel announced her departure from the project.[4]
