Albrecht Willem "Pim" Lier (born July 22, 1918) is a retired Dutch lawyer and jurist. He became well known in 1979 when he was revealed to be the Illegitimate son of Duke Henry of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, the prince consort and husband of Queen Wilhelmina. That made him a half brother of the then Queen Juliana and the uncle of current Queen Beatrix. He became a member of the Centre Party in 1984 and served as chairman until 1986. On December 18 of that year he decided to commit a double suicide because his wife was terminally ill, he shot his wife dead, but dared not to kill himself later. For murdering his wife he served 4 ½ years in prison. It is not known whether he is still alive as of 2016.[1]
