Penicillium paxilli is an anamorph, saprophytic species of the genus of Penicillium which produces paxilline, paxisterol, penicillone, pyrenocine A, paspaline B and verruculogene.[1][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11] Penicillium paxilli is used as a model to study the biochemistry of the indol-diterepene biosysnthesis[12]
