Pembrokeshire College is a further education college with a campus in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, in Wales and around 40 outreach centres across the county.[3] A further campus, the Marine and Information Technology Centre (MITEC) in Milford Haven (51°42′46″N 5°02′37″W / 51.7128°N 5.0436°W) offers courses in marine engineering.[2]
The college provides full and part-time vocational education for students aged 14 – 19 and a variety of courses and activities for adults. The total number of enrolled students in full and part-time education is about 8,500. The college also offers students access to higher education programs including degrees, HNDs and HNCs mainly validated by the University of South Wales, NVQs and other accredited programmes in training and business,[1] as well as the Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification.[4] Certain courses, including the Princes Trust courses and subjects such as IT, Basic Skills and Welsh for Adults. are funded by the Welsh Assembly Government.[1]
A May 2007 Estyn inspection, (the Welsh Ofsted) rated engineering, construction, health and care, languages, literature and culture, and student support with Grade 1 (outstanding).[3]
The college canteen, known as 'the refectory' is franchised out to Chartwell's.
Marine technology centre
Located on the quayside in Milford Haven, the centre provides a variety of vocational training related to Port Operations, Boat Building, Marine Engineering and similar courses.[5]
Sport
The college includes a Sports Academy that provides coaching in Golf, Football, Rugby and Netball[1]
