Peggy Phelan (born June 12, 1948),[1] is an American feminist scholar, one of the founders of Performance Studies International,[2] and was chair of New York University's Department of Performance Studies from 1993 to 1996. She is also the author of Unmarked (1993),[3] Mourning Sex (1997)[4] and Art and Feminism (2001).[5]
