Paul Cloke

Paul J. Cloke FAcSS is a Welsh author and professor of geography. He is known as the founding editor of the international and multidisciplinary academic Journal of Rural Studies, published by Elsevier Science.[1] As of 2012, he is a faculty member of the Department of Geography at the University of Exeter.[2]

Educational background

Cloke attended the University of Southampton, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in geography. He went on to Wye College (University of London), where he earned his Ph.D, followed by a transfer to the University of Bristol, where he earned his Doctor of Science. His academic area of expertise focuses on human geography.[2][3]

Professional background

Following his graduation from Bristol, Cloke joined the staff of St David's University College, Lampeter (University of Wales). While at Lampeter, he was part of the Lampeter Geography School. He has also served as a professor of geography at the University of Bristol. As of 2012, he is a staff member with the University of Exeter and Adjunct Professor at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. He is known as the founding editor of the Journal of Rural Studies, published by Elsevier.[2]
