Patrick Cronin (actor)
Patrick Cronin (born 1941) is an Irish American stage, television, and film actor best known for his television appearances spanning three decades.[1][2][3]
After graduating from La Salle College High School in 1959 Cronin attended La Salle University Philadelphia (then a college) where he received a bachelor's degree and after a year of study at Tulane University in N.O. he then achieved his degree in directing from Temple University in 1968. .
He is currently working as a professor at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee.[4][5] He is the former holder of The Basler Chair and the first holder of the Permanent Artist in Residence position at East Tennessee State University.[6]
Family
Cronin, a native of Philadelphia, where he attended Our Lady of Victory School in West Philadelphia and then graduated from St Ambrose School in Northeast Philadelphia in 1955. He attended La Salle College High School graduating in 1959 before attending La Salle College. He has been married three times: His first marriage took place at Holy Child Church at Broad and Logan streets to Christine Donnally (professional name Kristin Lavrin for the title character in a Sigrid Undset novel, Sigrid being the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature (1912). They were both starring in plays at La Salle Music Theatre and were married on Aug 10th 1963. They divorced in 1965 but remained good friends until she died of lung cancer in 2010. He then married Beatrce Colen the granddaughter of playwright George S. Kaufman. She was a successful actor starring on over 200 shows including major roles on Happy Days and Wonder Woman. They were married at the home of Lloyd and Barbara Schwartz, creators of LA's only Equity Children's Theatre at Theatre West Oct 23rd 1977, officiated by Rabbi Will Kramer. They had two children, James Patrick Cronin born March 28th 1982 who is a graduate of St James School in LA, Brentwood Academy, East Tennessee State University 2004 receiving a Magna Cum Laude B.A. in Theatre and Dance and then he completed his MFA at the U of Louisville. James is now married to Julie McKay and they are two of the most successful book readers in the world. Charlie Cronin was born May 20th 1983 and he attended St James and Brentwood before earning his Magna Cum Laude B.A. from ETSU in 2005. He currently manages Prohibition a very successful bar in NYC at 84th and Columbus Ave. Patrick and Beatrice were married for over 22 years untill her death on November 18, 1999. from lung cancer at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.[7][8] Her memorial service was held at Saint James Episcopal Church in Los Angeles ten days later.[9] Cronin is currently married to Amber Kinser, Ph.D., noted feminist scholar and the mother of his two step children Chelsea and Isaac (August 2004 - present). i
