Patricio Valladares (born Chillán, 17 July 1982) is a Chilean film director and screenwriter, best known for his work in horror films,[1] who mixes elements of both arthouse and grindhouse, with an emphasis on modern extreme violence, action and some gore. He is also involved in comics and short movies, and frequently injects black humor or homages to grindhouse movies, along with artistic cinematography, somewhat intellectual dialogue and the occasional surrealism. His serial killers tend to make repeat appearances in his movies.[2]

Directing career

He is known for directing the Chilean horror film for video release as Currículum(2007), Dirty Love (2009) and Toro Loco(2010)[3] this all trilogy which mixes the author filmmaking with Grindhouse style without budget. This films is being distributed by DVD and VOD. In 2007, he established his own film company Vallastudio Films, for the productions of horror and genre films. As a comic author he has released the comic El Italiano #1 and #2, published in Italy, this project been released in Italy in a special edition with the support of editorial Nicola Pesce Editore. In 2011, he directed the micro-budget Chilean movie titled En las Afueras de la Ciudad (also known as Hidden in the Woods), based a true story.[4] The film was a mixture of thriller and drama, and was selected for several international film festivals, including Fantasia Film Festival, London 'Film 4 FrightFest', Belgian Razor Reel. It was distributed by Epic Pictures Group. The film cought the attention of actor Michael Biehn and his Blanc Biehn production company have been connected with him for a remake of Hidden in the Woods.[5] The English-language remake of the film is scheduled to be released in 2014. Michael Biehn, William Forsythe, Electra Avellan, Jeannine Kaspar and MMA fighter Krzysztof Soszynski will be starring.[6]

This 2014 working in the upcoming action micro budget movie called Toro Loco: Bloodthirsty a.k.a. "Toro Loco: Sangriento" [7] starring by Francisco Melo, Mauricio Pesutic, Simón Pesutic and Constanza Piccoli, the Thriller movie "Breath" produced by Loris Curci and the Cliffhanger thriller Downhill.[8] Has been pick up bye WTFilms as Sales Agent and Co producer.[9]
