Patriarch Cosmas I of Alexandria
Cosmas I served as Greek Patriarch of Alexandria between 727 and 768.
Patriarch Cosmas I was officially recognized by the conquering Arabs as Patriarch and as the representative of the Orthodox communities, restoring the Church of Alexandria after its many years of Coadjutoration.
