Temples
Palakurthi Sri Someshwara Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is a famous temple located on a hill which has nearly 250 steps to reach the main temple. It is 50 km from Warangal in the outskirts of Palakurthi Mandal. It is also the birthplace of famous poet Palakurthi Somanadha Kavi of the 12th century. His Samadhi can be seen here. This historic temple is dedicated to Lord Siva and Vishnu who incarnated in two adjacent caves at a height of 120 metres on the hillock. The 'Pradakshina Path' encircling the two caves is quite natural. There is a dilapidated 'Surya' Temple. This place once flourished with the adherents of 'Veera Saiva' sect of Hinduism. It has lost prominence in course of time, presently it is a famous pilgrimage centre in warangal district. The Veera Saivas will visit once a year to have the blessings of presiding deities and Somanadhakavi, and also we can see here Sri Paatymeedi Anjaneyaswamy temple which is nearest to Sri Someshwar Laxminarasimha Swamy main temple. It has a huge history. This idol consecrated by Kakatiya's.
