Otovec (pronounced [ˈoːtɔʋəts]; German: Otawitz[2]) is a settlement northwest of the town of Črnomelj in the White Carniola area of southeastern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region.[3]
The local church, built north of the settlement, is dedicated to Saint Bartholomew (Slovene: sveti Jernej) and belongs to the Parish of Črnomelj. It is a Baroque building erected in the mid-18th century on the site of an older church mentioned in written documents dating to 1526.[4]
