It should be clearly noted that elements within the nine regionally-aligned brigades report to two separate command chains. Within each regionally-aligned brigade, such as 7th Infantry Brigade and Headquarters East, there is a Regional Point of Command (RPOC) that is responsible, not to 1st UK Division or Force Troops Command, but to Headquarters Regional Command at Andover.[8] These RPOCs handle routine links with the civilian community, ranges etc, and the 'defence contribution to homeland resilience' - homeland defence.
