Octuple champion

In different sports, a sportsperson who wins eight crowns, titles, medals, belts, or other distinctions is called an octuple champion.

At the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, swimmer Michael Phelps won 8 gold medals for the events 100/200m butterfly, 200/400m individual medley, 200m freestyle, 400/800m freestyle relay, and 400m medley relay.

Boxing

In boxing, an octuple champion is a boxer who has won world titles in eight different weight classes.

Manny Pacquiao is the first and only boxer to win world titles in eight different weight divisions. Pacquiao clinched the feat when he defeated Antonio Margarito via a unanimous decision and won the WBC Super Welterweight (154 pounds (70 kg)) title at a catch weight of 150 pounds (68 kg) on November 13, 2010 at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. Six of his world championships came from the "Big Four" (WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO) sanctioning bodies & two were from The Ring, which hands out a symbolic version of the lineal championship.
