Norton Rose Fulbright is a multinational law firm headquartered in London, United Kingdom.[4] The firm traces its origins back to 1794 and grew to prominence as a result of its banking and finance practice.[5] Norton Rose Fulbright is one of the world’s largest international law firms, with more than 3800 lawyers and 54 offices in 29 countries.[6]
Norton Rose Fulbright posted total revenues of $1.815 billion in 2014, making it the world’s seventh highest grossing law firm in American Lawyer's 2015 Am Law 100.[7] Norton Rose Fulbright achieved a top three ranking in the Acritas Sharplegal 2014 Global Elite Brand Index[8] and is ranked among the top ten most elite international law firms.[9] Norton Rose Fulbright is known for its strength in corporate finance, energy and infrastructure, technology, and healthcare, and the firm was recognized as the Projects, Energy, & Natural Resources Firm of the Year.[10]
Norton Rose Fulbright was formed in 2013 by a combination between two preeminent international law firms: London-based Norton Rose and Houston-based Fulbright & Jaworski LLP.[11] Norton Rose Fulbright is composed of five separate entities and is structured as a Swiss Verein.
History
Norton Rose Fulbright is one of the oldest operating law firms in the United Kingdom.[12] Founded by Sir Philip Rose and Henry Elland Norton, Baxter, Rose & Norton opened its office on Victoria Street and expanded as a result of its banking and finance practice.[13] The firm counted London and Brighton Railway[14] and Great Northern Railway[15] among its client listing.
Baxter, Rose & Norton also specialized in election agency.[16] The firm administered the business of the Conservative Party and went on to advise dozens of Members of Parliament, including Benjamin Disraeli[17] and Sir Edward Colebrooke.[18]
- 1992 – Norton Rose offices hit by IRA bomb in London
- 2007 – Norton Rose converted to a limited liability partnership structure.
- 2010 – Norton Rose entered the Australian market through a combination with Deacons Australia.
- 2011 – Norton Rose entered the Canadian and South African markets through combinations with Ogilvy Renault LLP and Deneys Reitz.
- 2012 – Norton Rose entered the Latin American and Central Asian markets and strengthened its existing capabilities in Canada and Russia, following Norton Rose Canada's merger with Canadian law firm Macleod Dixon LLP.
- 2013 – Norton Rose combined[19] with US law firm Fulbright & Jaworski, forming Norton Rose Fulbright.
- 2014 – Norton Rose Fulbright was linked to a violation of human rights in Venezuela[20] stemming from influence peddling.[21][22]

Partnership with McLaren Honda
On 23 January 2014, Norton Rose Fulbright was appointed global legal advisor to the McLaren Group and entered into a corporate partnership with the McLaren Mercedes Formula 1™ team, which effective 2015 became the McLaren Honda Formula 1™ team.[23]
Atlantic Advisory Partners
On 19 May 2015 Norton Rose Fulbright announced its partnership with Atlantic Advisory Partners AAP. The partnership helps companies take advantage of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement.[24]
