North Carolina Highway 124 is a 9 mile road from NC 42 to NC 42. It goes through Macclesfield, North Carolina and that is the only town it goes through.
Route Description
North Carolina Highway 124 begins at NC 42 and heads west towards Macclesfield. It intersects NC 111 before reaching Macclesfield. The road enters Macclesfield along East Greene Street intersects NC 122 in the middle of the town. NC 124 then continues east until it intersects US 258. After the road intersects US 258 it turn a northeasterly direction and continues that direction until it reaches NC 42 at its eastern terminus[1]
History
NC 124 appeared as a new route in 1933 running from its current western terminus at NC 42 to US 258 in Crisp. In 1964 NC 124 was extended from Crisp to NC 42/NC 43. The route has stayed the same since.[2]
