[1]North Broward Preparatory School (NBPS) is an accredited, college-preparatory, independent, non-sectarian school serving families of the pre-kindergarten through high school age groups in the Palm Beach and Broward counties of Southern Florida. Originally located in Lighthouse Point, FL, the school was founded in 1957 by Dr. James Montgomery and became a member of the Meritas International Family of Schools in 2005. In the summer of 2004, over forty years later, NBPS relocated its Lighthouse Point campus to its current campus in Coconut Creek, FL. The Coconut Creek college-style campus of nearly 80 acres (0.32 km2) consists of an upper, middle and lower school. In June, 2015 North Broward became a part of Nord Anglia Education, one of the world's leading premium schools organizations.[2]
There are approximately 1,446 students presently enrolled at NBPS as of December 2014.
History
The school was established in 1957 in Lighthouse Point. The school has grown to include grades Pre-K3 through 12. The boarding program has also expanded to include approximately 200 students.
Accreditation
North Broward Preparatory School is accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools,[3] and the Florida Kindergarten Council.[4]

Boarding Program North Broward Preparatory School is an international community, resembling a small college. Boarding at the Coconut Creek Campus is quad occupancy and at Coral Springs Residential Village boarding occupancy is a combination of doubles, triples and quads. Students live in single gender building. The main campus features Art Studios, Basketball Courts, Computer Labs, Fitness Centers, Gymnasiums, Science Labs, Swimming Pools, Tennis Courts, Track and Football Field, also the campus offers Multi-Purpose Fields. The student body includes 272 boarding students.
Athletics
The school is a member of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) which promotes, directs, supervises, and regulates all interscholastic high school athletic events in the State of Florida. North Broward's athletic teams are nicknamed the Eagles. North Broward Preparatory School supports 18 athletic activities and programs including Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Equestrian, Fencing, Flag Football (Girls), Football, Golf, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Track & Field and Volleyball.
