Nikolas Asprogenous (Greek: Νικόλας Ασπρογένους) (born April 6, 1986 in Limassol) is a Cypriot footballer who played as a goalkeeper for Ethnikos Assia F.C..

Professional career

FK Partizan Belgrade

Asprogenous signed a professional contract with FK Partizan Belgrade of the Serbian SuperLiga in June 2004. He played a total in a total of 17 league matches in his career with the Serbian giants until his contract expired in 2007.

In the 2006/07 season Asprogenis made a total of 16 appearances across all competitions - 12 matches in the Serbian league, 3 matches in the Serbian Cup and 1 match in the UEFA Cup. His European debut came in a 1-0 away loss to Rangers at Ibrox Stadium on December 14, 2006.[1]

AC Omonia Nicosia

He signed for Cypriot outfit AC Omonoia in May 2008. He will be pairing his teammates in the Cyprus national football team Antonis Georgallides, Elias Charalambous, Efstathios Aloneftis, Demetris Christofi and Michalis Konstantinou. He was released on a free transfer on June 2011.

Anorthosis Famagusta FC

On 9 September 2010, he moved to Anorthosis Famagusta FC on loan from AC Omonoia. The team of Famagusta preserves the option to renew with the player.

AE Paphos

He signed for AEP a year contract on July 2011.

International career

Asprogenis has been capped at the Under-17, Under-19, and Under-21 levels for Cyprus.

He was a starting goalkeeper of the Cyprus Under-21 National Team, and has played all matches throughout the qualification stage of the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.[2]

He was called up to the Cyprus national football team but did not play, backing up Sofronis Avgousti
