News ONE is a Urdu-language Karachi-based Pakistani news channel, launched on November 27, 2007.[1] It is licensed by Air Waves Media (Pvt) Ltd. and working under the Interflow Group.

Airwaves Media (Private) Limited is Interflow Group’s multi-media wing, focusing on managing and operating satellite television and FM radio channels and their marketing. Its activities are extended to comprise program development, including software content for television, radio and allied media.

The mission of Airwaves Media is to broadcast innovative, entertaining, informative, realistic, relevant and dependable content to its audience across all demographics.

Ownership and structure

Airwaves Media (Private) Limited is a subsidiary of the Interflow Group, the largest advertising group in Pakistan. Headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan, Airwaves Media has TVOne, NewsOne, Waseb and Radio1 FM91 as its media units. Airwaves Media has 3 regional offices with production facilities in Lahore, Islamabad & Multan; and a coordinating office in New York, USA. We have a total staff of over 800 employees, including full time employees, correspondents and contractual workers.

History of Airwaves Media

Airwaves Media (Private) Limited was incorporated in May 2004 and started its media journey with the launch of Radio1-FM91 in early 2005 in the urban metropolises of Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Gawadar. The next step was the inception of TVOne, the entertainment genre channel, in late 2005.

In 2006, Airwaves Media extended its network to include Waseb, an infotainment TV channel catering to the Seraiki belt and launched NewsOne in November 2007, a dedicated Urdu news & current affairs TV channel. In 2009, TVOne was restructured as TVOne Global with its launch in USA, and is now available in 40 countries around the world.

NewsOne’s local reach is in more than 228 cities of Pakistan including all primary and secondary Urban centers including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad and Peshawar.
