The Newark Co-Pilots were a minor league baseball team based in Newark, New York that played in the New York-Penn League from 1968 to 1979. They were affiliated with the Seattle Pilots from 1968 to 1969 and with the Milwaukee Brewers from 1970 to 1978. They were independent in 1979. Their home ballpark was Colburn Park.[1]
Newark fielded a new team in 1983 for play in the New York-Penn League, the Newark Orioles. The new club was affiliated with the Baltimore Orioles. However in 1988, the team was relocated to Erie, Pennsylvania and became the Erie Orioles and later the Erie Sailors. The Sailors then moved after the 1993 season to Fishkill, New York and became the Hudson Valley Renegades, who are currently members of the NYPL.
