New Radiant Storm King was an indie rock group formed at Massachusetts' Hampshire College in 1990.

Biography

New Radiant Storm King have released nine studio albums on six different labels. The Steady Hand has been called an "intelligent and dynamic," "fully realized rock album."[1] Their latest album, Drinking In The Moonlight, was released on October 7, 2008 on Darla Records. The music video for their song "Quicksand Under Carpet," directed by Jay Hollinsworth, won at the 2007 Maverick Movie Awards for best "Music Video: Animation/Rock 'n' Roll."[2] Their song "The Winding Staircase" was featured on the soundtrack of the 2006 movie Catch and Release.

Following

Once expected by some to be "'next big thing' in indie rock,"[3] Storm King instead maintained a cult following throughout its years.[4] Their song "The Opposing Engineer (Sleeps Alone)" was covered by Guided By Voices in 1995.[5] Matt and Peyton were the guitarists on the Silver Jews album The Natural Bridge.
