Nelson Faria
Nelson Faria (March 23, 1963 in Belo Horizonte) is a Brazilian guitar player.[1]
Biography
Started his guitar lessons with Sidney Barros (Gamela) in Brasilia. At the age of 19 moved to Los Angeles and studied at the G.I.T. (Guitar Institute of Technology) with Frank Gambale, Joe Pass and Scott Henderson. He has played and recorded with João Bosco, Ivan Lins, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Lisa Ono, Milton Nascimento, Edu Lobo, Cássia Eller, Jerzy Milewski, Paulo Moura, Toninho Horta, Antonio Adolfo, Carlos Malta, Fatima Guedes, Leila Pinheiro, Nivaldo Ornelas, Ana Caram, Mauricio Einhorn, Nico Assumpção, Gustavo Tavares and Wagner Tiso, among others, and is part of Nosso Trio.
Nelson has played at the most important jazz festivals around the world, including Montreux Jazz Festival, Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreal International Jazz Festival.
