Early work

In the late nineties Sabatino played in the punk band Stick Figure Suicide. By 2000 he joined as lead guitarist for Pencey Prep, a post-hardcore and punk band fronted by My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero.[6] Pencey Prep signed to Eyeball Records later that year, and played local shows with The Strokes, Nada Surf and Atom & His Package.[7] Sabatino appeared on two Pencey Prep releases; 2000's demo Long Walk to Forever and full-length Heartbreak in Stereo.[8] Pencey Prep disbanded in 2001, and he began working on a solo acoustic project called Fairmont.[6]
