History
The National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR) was founded in 1973 to support cancer research. The charity has donated over $350 million to support cancer research scientists over its 40-year history.
Supported Scientists
NFCR supports 25 cancer research scientists in the United States.
Among them is Laurence J.N. Cooper, M.D., Ph.D. Dr. Cooper's innovative research is focusing on developing a novel immunotherapy which kills leukemia and lymphoma cells by boosting a patient's own immune attack.[1]
Controversies
Founding board member, John Slye, was charged with being part of a scheme to bilk investors in an investment fund based in California.[2]
