The National Crime Records Bureau, abbreviated to NCRB, is an Indian government agency responsible for collecting and analysing crime data as defined by the Indian Penal Code (IPC). NCRB is head-quartered in New Delhi and is part of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India.

Fingerprint centre

NCRB has been having its own fingerprint centre for a long time. This is used for forensic science and criminal testing & record purpose. Lab uses manual technique to identify fingerprints.

Sketch software

NCRB has its own developed software to prepare suspected human sketch for identification. With the help of inputs from eyewitness operator prepares a sketch almost close to the description of eyewitness.

Police officer training centre

NCRB has its own training centre for providing training to Police officer. Periodically centre provides many training to IPS and other officers from all over India and Law Enforcement Officers from foreign countries also.
