National Council of Applied Economic Research

National Council of Applied Economic Research or NCAER is a non-profit policy think tank.[1][2]

Nandan Nilekani is President of the Governing Body and Dr Shekhar Shah is current Director General of NCAER.[1]

It was established in 1956 with financial support from the Ford Foundation, Finance Ministry and Tata Sons. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation stone of NCAER campus on October 31, 1959.
