Nasir P. Ramlee was the son of Malaysia's Silver-Screen Legend P. Ramlee. He was born in Singapore on 23 November 1953. His biological mother was Junaidah Daeng Harris, whom P. Ramlee married in 1950, but ended in divorce in 1954. His only sibling was Arfan (1954–1998). He was also an actor, composer, musician and a singer.

Career

Nasir started his career as a musician in a nightclub before he joined EMI as a music composer. After that, he served as coordinator of combo music at the Istana Budaya (IB) since April 2002.

He has teamed with the late Datuk Ahmad Daud, the late Normadiah, the late Aziz Jaafar and Datuk Aziz Sattar for the Panca Sitara band.

He has produced songs for Herman Tino, Rosemarie Abdul Hamid and Aman Shah. Among the popular song is Rindu Bayangan performed by Carefree.

During his tenure at IB, Nasir much involved in the show organized by the government and at the international level.

Between performances ever directed by Nasir at IB is Suzana 60 and Bonnie M Live In Kuala Lumpur in 2006.

Personal life

Nasir P. Ramlee married three times with his first wife, Mariati Abdul Rahman (divorced), second wife Rashidah Jaafar (divorced) and third wife Surjangsih Abu Bakar (until his death) whom he calls Suria, he has seven children from his three marriages. His first marriage with Mariati, blessed with three children, Gunina, Gunawan and Gunarisasca. Nasir's second marriage with Rashidah, he has two daughters, Natasya and Najua, and his third marriage with Suria, he has two sons, Zaidi and Zakaria.

Death

He died at the age of 55 on 17 December 2008 due to heart complications and diabetes. He was buried at Jalan Ampang Muslim Cemetery, Kuala Lumpur next to the graves of his late father, P. Ramlee and his two step-mothers, Norizan and Saloma.
