NAAN YEN PIRANDHEN ? (Tamil: நான் ஏன் பிறந்தேன் ? English: WHY WAS I BORN ?, is a 1972 Indian Tamil directed by M. Krishnan, starring M. G. Ramachandran in the lead role, with K. R. Vijaya, Kanchana, M. N. Nambiar, Nagesh and Major Sundarrajan.
Plot
Freshly honed the Grandes Écoles of architecture of its country, Kannan (MGR) persuades his future employer (Major Sundarrajan), that he is a single man.
Indispensable condition so that he obtains this very important post.
Circumstances make that Kannan cannot give some explanation its real family situation.
In reality, head of the family of a big tribe, it is a matter of their survival.
They are his reason for living!

Around the movie
It is the remake of Telugu film Bratuku Theruvu.[2]
A history between laughter and tears.
Rare fact, MGR is married and father of a little girl from the beginning of the history.
It is the first orchestration of the famous binomial Shankar-Ganesh for a film of MGR.
They take easily the exam.
Their soundtrack is powerful, same even today. It became a big classical of MGR.
NAAN YEN PIRANDHEN ? was their last movie together for MGR and K. R. Vijaya. (Also for Kanchana with MGR)
