Mount Silliman is a mountain in Sequoia National Park, in California. It stands at 11,188 feet (3,410 m)).[1], near Silliman Pass.

Name

The mountain was named for Benjamin Silliman, professor of chemistry at Yale College,[2][3] as are two lakes and a creek below the summit.

As a hike

There is no formal trail to the top of the mountain, but a variety of "bushwhack trails" exist.[4][5][1]

Foxtail pine

A rare pine, the foxtail pine, grows directly below Silliman's summit.
