Mount Auburn is an unincorporated community in Jackson Township, Shelby County, Indiana. Mount Auburn is situated at the geographical center of Jackson Township, the southwest corner Township of the county, twelve miles southwest of Shelbyville, and five miles northeast of Edinburg, Johnson County, Indiana.

History

Mount Auburn was laid out and platted in 1837.[3]

Mount Auburn once contained a high school which was in operation by at least 1884 and was discontinued at an unknown date.[4]
