Mookonda Poonacha Nitin Kushalappa is an Indian writer and amateur historian, besides being a blogger and engineer as well.

Early life

He was born in 1986 in Virajpet town, in Kodagu, and brought up in the city of Bangalore, both places are in Southern Karnataka. He did his schooling in Clarence High School in Bangalore, his senior secondary at St. Joseph's PUC and college from CMRIT under VTU. He also works as a software engineer who makes apps for the iPhone.[1][2] He writes under the names Mookonda Kushalappa, Nitin Kushalappa and Kushal Mucon.

Local History

He is an historian by hobby who is interested in prehistoric and ancient sites and writes about them.[3][4][5] He is also the author of two books, 'Long ago in Coorg' and 'The early Coorgs', and has a blog, all three being on a local history, that of the Kodagu (Coorg) district of the South Indian state of Karnataka. While 'The early Coorgs' speaks of Kodagu in the ancient times,[6] the blog 'Histories' speaks chiefly of the 'Kodagu Nayakas' (Coorg lords), while discussing a few other topics as well, and 'Long ago in Coorg' speaks of Kodagu in the modern era.[7][8]
