Mongolian Australians
Mongolian Australians are Australian citizens who derive their ancestral roots from Mongolia. Most arrived in the 1990s and 2000s, after communism in Mongolia came to an end. They came primarily as students, both privately funded and through AusAID.[2] In 2011, the Mongolian community organised a celebration of the Naadam festival in Sydney, with Mongolian wrestlers as well as wrestlers from the much more numerous Hazara diaspora community participating.[3]
