Mohammad Reza Ali Payam (Persian: محمدرضا عالیپیام) also known as Haloo (Persian: هالو) is an Iranian poet and satirist. He is currently a political prisoner of the Iranian government.[1] He has spoken extensively though the medium of satire and poetry against injustice and corruption. In 2012 he published a new poem about the Evin Prison where was being held.[2]
Imprisonment
He was arrested and taken to Evin Prison on 14 Aug 2012. Then on 09 Sep 2012 he was released on bail for approximately $50,000. [3][4] He was again imprisoned on April 23rd, 2015 for the same reason as 2012.
