Modage is a village in Belgaum district in the southwestern state of Karnataka, India. Modage holds an annual spiritual event that draws crowds from afar to meditate for the sunlight hours of the day and feast at night, called Solsakkar. The name originated from a local myth as did the tradition but has grown to be a highly respected spiritual event.[2]
